The Bansko ski season: a host's guide

The Bansko ski area is the largest in the Balkans, and the season usually runs from mid-December to mid-April.

When to come

• December — festive lights and first snow; book early for Christmas and New Year.
• January and February — the most reliable snow at the peak of the season.
• March and April — spring skiing: sunshine, soft afternoons and calmer rates, including our 7=6 offer.

Logistics, solved

Our free shuttle to the gondola lift leaves every 30 minutes — about a 5-minute ride, with no car and no parking to think about. The ski room saves you hauling boots and skis to your room.

The after-ski ritual

A warm indoor pool, sauna and steam bath — included for every guest — and a buffet dinner waiting downstairs. That is the difference between a ski holiday and a ski marathon.
